April 3rd, 1794
The war has done no good for us or France, and the Jacobins have decided on government price control. The Queen, Marie Antoinette is now dead: her head was cut by the guillotine. The King is also dead, and France is now in a crazy financial crisis, worse than ever. Business in the shop is worse than ever, today we had the first customer in weeks. A girl my age, AndreƩ Evelyn-Fluerette stopped by for clothes for her master. It was nice to see a girl my age. I don't think I have seen one in a while, for this revolution has gotten so hectic it is impossible to go out and have a decent conversation with the people of my age! Andree seemed to be a very intellectual lady, she was also kind and supported so many of my ideas on the revolution! I am angered to see that there is still nothing that has changed for us Third Estate people, and nothing has improved. As a matter of fact, perhaps they have gotten much worse. It's frightening, the number of people that were killed by guns. The number is greater than of those who died by the guillotine! I find this very funny, because my elder sister often liked to go watch the death of many nobles by the guillotine. Cruel world, this revolution. With no leader to lead us, and the nobles controlling our country, I can only pray and hope that someone will be able to stop this chaos and set things right for once. I'm not sure how long it will take for this to be achieved but I sometimes do get a feeling that it will be soon. I must not lose hope. My dear mother is getting older and my sisters are getting thinner and worn out. If I could take action I would. Yet I really do fear it is to late to do so, and I can only hope and pray.
